Meet the Team
Our Founder
Katherine “Kay” Samiano
Registered Occupational Therapist
20+ Years of Experience
Kay is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). First licensed in the Philippines in 2003 and in Alberta in 2008; she brings extensive international and Canadian experience supporting children and families across school, clinical, and community settings.
Her journey is both professional and deeply personal. As someone who experienced the world differently growing up, and now as a mom of a child with sensory needs, Kay understands firsthand how overwhelming it can feel when support systems don't make sense.
YWH was born from a deep personal passion and a lifelong commitment to create the space she wished had existed for every child, every family, no exceptions.
I wanted to build a place where no family ever feels like they have to justify their child's needs, a place where you are truly welcomed, exactly as you are.
